Logitech MX Master 2S Scrollwheel Repair

I’ve just realized I’ve been enjoying the fruits of this labor for months, and it’s not a big deal, but I’m proud of it anyway. This is not my model, and I didn’t really do that much work, but in a way that might be what makes it most satisfying.

The Logitech MX Master 2S is an excellent mouse, but the scroll wheel has a problem of (planned?) obsolescence. The wheel itself is dense metal, but it’s got two rubber rings around it to provide grip. Unfortunately, as many rubbers do, they decay after two or three years and get sticky and gross, and you can’t buy individual replacement parts.

Of course, as with most things that can be trivially solved with a 3D print, someone put in the legwork and designed a great model that totally fixes the mouse. I ended up scaling it down to 96% in X and Y and printing it with a 0.2mm nozzle for a good fit. The cherry on top, TPU shouldn’t get sticky over time the same way the original rubber did, so this repair should last quite a bit longer than OEM.
